There’s something about that Florida sunshine that seems to imbue artists there with a particular vibrant energy and I love seeing all of Wetson, Florida-based artist Patricia Beltran’s posts on social media because they radiate such joy. Patricia says of this work: ‘Tomorrow’ represents the infinity possibilities of a new day can give us, new opportunities and fresh mind. In this piece the heavy strokes of palette knife describes the freedom of movement, the beauty of texture, and the enfaces of colors and contrasts.
Like all artists I work with, Patricia has an interesting background. Born and raised in Brazil, she got a degree in architecture and worked in the interior design field for many years, both in Brazil and Florida. Also an avid visual artist, Patricia started out painting on fabric and then branched out into using oils and acrylics developing her trademark bold style through use of the palette knife. We got into the nitty gritty of how this tool helped her expand her vision in her artist statement.
One of Patricia’s missions and hallmarks is helping clients envision living with art in a meaningful way, that is, to enable them to enjoy each piece of art for something that both has personal meaning for them and that is intrinsic to their surroundings. This was one of the focal points we concentrated on in developing her bio.
Patricia founded Café e Art, llc, which serves as her Weston headquarters for office and art studio. Here, she enjoys the best of all worlds – painting for herself and accepting commissions from others, including residential and commercial clients internationally, as well as offering workshops for adults and children.
At this writing everyone is practicing social distancing due to COVID 19 and while Patricia misses the social aspect of her busy art career she’s spending time at home with family and using video to reach her audience. Keep up with Patricia at www.pbeltranart.com where you can also see her social media links.
